Tinder Stories vol.3

Ewa sat in her small apartment in Mokotów, staring at the phone screen glowing in the half-light of the room. She was thirty, with red hair cascading over her shoulders and green eyes that had once shone with hope but now were often filled with tears of frustration. She worked as a graphic designer at an advertising agency, spending her days creating perfect images for clients, but her own life was far from perfect. Divorced for two years, after a marriage that had fallen apart like a house of cards when her husband admitted he had never truly loved her. “You’re too emotional,” he had said at the end, packing his bags. Since then, Tinder had become her escape, but also her trap. Not the ordinary Tinder, where people pretended they were looking for love. No, she used the adult version, where profiles shouted: “Just sex, no strings attached.” And although she hated that men met only for a quick hookup, without a deeper connection, without breakfast in the morning or a walk holding hands, she still went on dates. Because what else did she have left? Loneliness gnawed more deeply than disappointment.

She ran her finger across the screen, the profiles flashing like neon signs in a nightclub. “Looking for fun,” one wrote. “No talking, just action,” said another. She sighed deeply, feeling the familiar pressure in her chest. “Why are they all the same? – she thought. – They only want a body, not a soul. And me? I agree because I’m afraid of emptiness.” But that evening, something inside her broke. She’d had enough. And yet... she opened a message from Paweł, thirty-two, a handsome brunette with a tattoo on his arm. “Let’s meet today. At your place or mine?” he wrote. Ewa hesitated, her fingers hovering over the keyboard. “Mine,” she replied at last. Because despite the disappointment, her body demanded touch, warmth, even if only for a moment.
Paweł arrived an hour later, smelling of cologne and freshly shaved. She opened the door in a black dress that emphasized her curves – full breasts, a narrow waist, hips that swayed seductively. Without a word, as always with these encounters, he pulled her toward him, his lips finding hers in a heated kiss. Their tongues intertwined, hands wandered over their bodies. “You’re beautiful,” he murmured, tearing off her dress. Ewa felt the familiar shiver, but one thought kept pounding in her head: “Just sex. Just sex again.” He pushed her onto the sofa, her legs wrapping around his waist. He tore off her underwear, his fingers slipping inside her, feeling the wetness, the pulsing heat. She moaned, her fingernails digging into his back. He thrust into her hard and rhythmically, their hips meeting in pounding strokes. “Harder!” she whispered, though in her soul she was screaming: “Why don’t you ask how my day went?”
The orgasm came quickly, a wave that flooded her body but not her soul. They lay there, breathless; he smoked a cigarette while she stared at the ceiling. “That was great. Shall we do it again?” he asked, getting dressed. “Yes,” she said mechanically, though she wanted to scream: “No! I want more!” The door closed behind him, and Ewa was left alone with her tears. “Why do I keep meeting them? – she thought. – Because hope dies last. Maybe someday I’ll meet someone different.”
The next day at work, as she sat over a poster design for a new campaign, her thoughts revolved around Tinder. Her colleague Marta noticed how distracted she was. “What’s wrong, Ewa? Another guy?” Ewa sighed. “They’re all the same. They only meet for sex. They promise heaven, then give you a moment of ecstasy and disappear.” Marta nodded. “That’s Tinder. What did you expect? But you keep meeting them...” Ewa nodded. “Because loneliness hurts more.”
That evening she opened the app again. This time it was Mateusz, twenty-nine, a blond with the smile of the boy next door. Bio: “Looking for an adventure without strings attached.” She wrote: “Come over.” He arrived with a bottle of wine, pretending it was a date. They talked for a while – about movies, music. But soon they got to the point. On the bed, her body beneath him, his mouth on her breasts, sucking her nipples, his fingers massaging her clitoris. He slid into her slowly, building a rhythm. Moans filled the room, their bodies slick with sweat. “You’re incredible,” he whispered, but Ewa knew they were empty words. They came together in an explosion, but afterward he got up and dressed. “Until next time.” And he left.
Tears streamed down her cheeks. “Why? – she asked herself. – Why do I keep meeting them, knowing it hurts?” But the next day she did the same thing. This time it was Krzysztof, thirty-five, mature, with a beard. They met at a hotel, neutral ground. In the room, there were candles and music. He undressed her slowly, kissing every inch of her skin. His tongue on her neck, her stomach, lower down. He licked her for a long time, his fingers inside her, until she trembled in orgasm. Then she was on top of him, riding him, her hips circling. But afterward – emptiness. “Just sex,” she thought as she left.
Ewa’s story went on like this for weeks. Every encounter was described in detail in the diary she kept to understand herself. With Tomek – a quick hookup in a car, adrenaline, an orgasm beneath the stars. With Adam – light BDSM, handcuffs, a whip, pain mingled with pleasure. With each one – disappointment. But she kept meeting them because in those moments she felt alive.
At last she came across Daniel. Bio: “Maybe something more than sex?” They arranged to have coffee first. The conversation flowed, with laughter and shared interests. Then they went to her place. The sex was different – gentle, with kisses and eye contact. But in the morning he disappeared, leaving a note: “It was nice.” The disappointment hit like a blow.
Ewa cried, but she did not stop. “In spite of everything,” she thought. More encounters followed: a group encounter with a couple, a threesome, an orgy. Detailed descriptions of bodies, moans, positions. But always emptiness.
At last came the reflection: Maybe it was time to stop? But Tinder was calling. The story ends with hope for change.
